Driven by its commitment to help improve water access, Apo Agua Infrastructura Inc. (Apo Agua) has partnered with the Davao City Water District (DCWD) in supplying water to areas experiencing shortages through DCWD’s water truck delivery program in District 2.
This water truck delivery program covers 5,000 households, with Apo Agua providing financial support since 2022. The funds contributed are covering expenses, including meals, fuel, and maintenance for fire truck volunteers involved in the program. With logistics and coordination seamlessly managed by DCWD, this collaborative effort ensures timely and effective water delivery to areas facing water access challenges.
Eduardo Aboitiz, President of Apo Agua, affirmed the company’s dedication to establishing a lasting partnership with DCWD, “Apo Agua vows to be a longstanding partner of the Davao City Water District (DCWD) by helping mobilize the Water Truck initiative as an intermediary water solution for District 2 Davao City residents. We also donated water pipes, water tanks, rainwater catchment, and handwashing facilities to our host barangays and strategic far-flung areas in our aim to continue uplifting communities. We are committed to support the growth of the city through the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project (DCBWSP) as a smart and sustainable infrastructure solution for the growing water supply needs of Davao City,” he shared.
Aside from the water truck delivery, Apo Agua has also provided an 11-KM water network benefitting over 1,000 households of Brgy. Tawantawan Barangay Water Systems Association (BAWASA). It also turned over 2-KM water pipes and construction materials for the construction of new and rehabilitation of water reservoir in Sitio Panaga, Barangay Colosas, Paquibato District. This provided more than 373 households of Ata-Manobo indigenous peoples community, Brgy. Council Complex and students of the Datu Libayao Elementary School access to safe and clean water.
DCWD and Apo Agua’s dedication to community development, water access, and sustainable practices is exemplified by its commitment to the completion of the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project and its continued efforts to empower Barangay Water System Associations (BAWASA) for broader community impact.
